Hello! I'm Steve, the 'Mayor' and 'Founding Father' of GayCityUSA.com.
**UPDATE (7-28-08) - Please excuse my 'lack of work' right now, as my 88 year old mother has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and only has two to six months to live. So I am very busy taking care of her and I don't have so much time to put into the webmaster duties as I should. Please do continue to write and submit your links. I will eventually get to all the mail and you will hear from me sooner or later, just please be patient.
**UPDATE: MisterMayor has been suffering from a severe case of carpel tunnel syndrome and has had to limit his work on this site, but the whole site is going through another design change and update. New features are being added to help in your search for gay stuff on the internet, such as gay videos, photos, city guides, gay news, blogs and such. This is an exciting time for GayCityUSA.com -- now in its 7th year!
**UPDATE: Emails are not always being answered due to the slow down in work load and due to cyber attacks, and other bugs in the system that have effected email getting to me late. However, if you have sent an email, the mail is still there and not lost. I just need to get caught up on it and it is going to take some time, so please be patient. Also, I'm having problems with the newsletter. I hope to solve this problem soon, but don't let that stop you from signing up! (Your address will be stored for future newsletters.)
Background: I currently live in a small town, but I miss the city and the 'gay lifestyle' so in January of 2001, I created this 'cyber-city' where I can be as gay and/or flamboyant as I want! GayCityUSA quickly became the number one gay search directory and was even mentioned in the Washington Post! The purpose of this site is to inform, to entertain, to help, and to have fun! I personally approve each link and try to recommend sites that are of high quality and without membership requirements or pop-ups. I work hard to make your surfing experience as easy and as relevant and interesting as I can. This site uses 'targeted' advertising to bring in enough money to cover expenses. By 'targeted', I mean that the banner advertisements are my affiliates and I try to place the ads in the best locations with some relevancy to the topic. So if you were looking for shoes, you would find shoe advertisements there, etc.

A. The owner of this site has AIDS and he gets a percentage from each sale from the affiliate advertisers. The amount of purchase remains the same to the purchaser so there is no added expense. The affiliate pays the percentage as 'payment' for the advertising and the 'lead'.

Q. Are you sure that all the celebrities on your list of gay celebrities are really gay?
A. Without having sex with them personally, or something like that, I can never say for certain. I am not about embarrassing anyone or 'outing' a person. I only place a name on the list if I have a reliable source or two for me to decide that the celebrity is out of the closet in their personal lives. This could be that they are not 'totally' out with the press, however they usually are pretty well known in their neighborhoods as gay and open in their personal life. Most on the list are very open and some may have a foot in the closet, however they are all known to be gay.
Q. How do I advertise on GayCityUSA.com?
A. I accept all gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual related website links and banner ads for free. I only post banner ads for 'non-gay' websites if I have signed up for an affiliate program in which I receive a percentage of each sale. Other ads are placed on the site at my discretion due to the relevancy or interest to the LGBT community.
For some straight, but 'gay friendly' websites without an affiliation program, the advertising fee is $30.00 for one year or $15.00 for six months payable to paypal. Please email me for more information regarding this program.
