Glide Memorial Church
Glide has been welcoming and affirming the LGBT community for more than
35 years. In 1965 Reverend Cecil Williams performed his first same-sex
commitment ceremony and the practice has been proudly continuing ever
since. More than 50 free human service programs are offered at Glide,
including an HIV-AIDS outreach project, free medical clinic, free meals
program that serves about 3,500 meals every day and more. Sunday
services are called "Celebrations" are are joyous events aimed at
celebrating diversity. Glide is a member of the United Methodist
